It’s a principle that’s applied in the classroom. A teacher’s goal is to lift students regarding their understanding and knowledge of a subject area. The aim is to get the students to a higher level in their appreciation of a subject matter. The teacher can only do this by first bending down to the level of the students. The teacher must appreciate the subject matter from the level of students. He or she must talk to the students from their level of mental growth and then lift the student. It’s like lifting a crawling child from the ground. You must bend down to pick up the child. You can’t pick the child upstanding.
